How we collect, use, and protect your data on Basevos.

Basevos, Inc. ("Basevos," "we," "us," or "our") operates basevos.com and the Basevos platform (the "Service"), a marketplace connecting Brands running content campaigns ("Drops") with Clippers who create and distribute that content. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what's generated by your use of the Service, and what we get from the third-party services we rely on to run it.

Account and profile information: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), role (Brand/Creator or Clipper), profile photo, bio, and any social links you add.
Campaign and content data: campaign details and budgets, source videos and creative assets you upload to a Content Kit, campaign Playbooks, Drop submissions, post URLs you provide, and performance metrics (views, engagement) you or we record against a submission.
Payment information: campaign funding and subscription payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe shares with us only what's needed to operate the Service, such as the last four digits of a card, billing status, and transaction identifiers.
Communications: messages you send through Basevos' in-app messaging between Brands and Clippers, and any support requests you send us.
Usage and device data: log data such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and timestamps, collected automatically when you use the Service.
Cookies: we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We don't use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use your information

We use the information above to operate the core marketplace: creating and displaying campaigns and Drops, matching Clippers with claimable Drops, processing submissions and reviews, calculating and displaying payout amounts, and enabling messaging between Brands and Clippers.

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
To process payments, campaign funding, and subscription billing through Stripe.
To generate AI-assisted video clips when a Brand uses the Generate Clips feature (see "AI processing" below).
To communicate with you about your account, campaigns, submissions, and payouts, including service and security notices.
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
To comply with legal obligations.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

With other users, as the Service requires — a Brand sees a Clipper's profile, submissions, and post links; a Clipper sees a Brand's campaign details and Playbook. Public profile information (display name, avatar, follower count) is visible to anyone using the Service.
With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: Supabase (database and file storage), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (AI transcription and clip-selection for the Generate Clips feature), Shotstack (video rendering for generated clips), and our hosting providers (Vercel and Fly.io).
If required by law, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Basevos, our users, or the public.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to your information.

AI processing

If a Brand uses the "Generate Clips" feature, the source video and its audio are sent to OpenAI for transcription and clip-selection, and the resulting edit instructions are sent to Shotstack to render the final clips. These providers process that content solely to perform the requested transcription or rendering and under their own data-processing terms — Basevos does not use your uploaded video content to train AI models.

Data retention

We retain account and campaign data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see "Your choices" below); some records — such as transaction history required for tax or accounting purposes — may be retained as required by law even after account deletion.

Your choices

Access and correction: you can view and update most of your account and profile information directly from Settings.
Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us. We'll complete deletion within a reasonable time, subject to the retention exceptions above.
Export: you can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us.
Communications: you can manage in-app notification preferences from Settings; we'll still send you service-critical emails (like security or payment notices) even if you opt out of other notifications.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law — for example the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California — including the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for business and professional use and is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we'll delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, database-level access controls, and row-level security on our database — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

International data transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you're accessing the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect. The "Effective" date above reflects the last update.
